Sudhir Singal

Mr. Sudhir Singhal has worked with the Indian Institute of Petroleum (I.I.P.), Dehradun, India from 1965 to 2003, particularly on Application of Fuels and Lubricants in I.C. Engines and in Industrial Machinery. He was the Project Coordinator of the Engines Laboratory and the Tribology Laboratory and headed the Petroleum Products Application Division, and the Analytical Sciences Division. He was a member of many International bodies including SAE, ASTM, Combustion Institute, etc.. He was the President of the Tribology Society of India for three years, from 1991 to 1993.He was also the first Chief Editor of the TSI Journal, the periodic journal of the Society. He has published / presented over 250 papers, and in addition, prepared another 250 technical reports on sponsored research investigations. He was actively involved with the Bureau of Indian Standards for over 36 years in most of the fuels and lubricant committees. He was the Chairman of PCDC 1, the committee on test methods for an unprecedented 11 years.. He was also a member of several significant committees of Govt. of India including the Auto Fuel Policy Committee, Apex Committee on Hazardous Wastes, Biofuels Task Force of the Planning Commission of India, and many others.
